Summer Intensive Copenhagen 2023 is held from 16 to 18 June with 4 teachers offering 11 different workshops over 3 days.
All workshops are held at Rødovre Fitness Club, Tæbyvej 9, 2610 Rødovre, Denmark.
I am very happy to have 3 very proficient and exciting guest teachers with us this year; Paulina Rosson, Kalila Lepik and Marie Jensen. You will find detailed description of the workshops below and practical information at the bottom of the page.
Registration opens 1 March 2023 and you can sign up for as many - or few - workshops as you feel like and have time for. Registration will stay open until the workshop starts or until it is full.

Workshops with Paulina
Double veil | intermediate and up
The more challenging and impressive double veils moves require big arm movements and different kind of turns. To do this as fluid as possible we need body control, strength and flexibility. During this workshop we will work on dance technique that is useful to build this up. We will also learn a beautiful and powerful short choreography.
Bring two half circle veils with the same size and weight. A limited number of veils can be borrowed.
Samba fusion | intermediate and up (experiece in Samba is not required)
Learn the most common steps and moves used in the fascinating Rio Samba style and then put them together with different kind of shimmies and other exquisite belly dance movements in a powerful fusion choreography.
Those who would like to take the challenge are welcome to bring their dance high heels.
Ballet technique | open level
In this workshop we will work on Classical ballet dance technique that can improve fluidness in your bellydance. Examples of this are spinning technique, flexibility and strength exercises and also arms and legs movements.

Ab Fab | intermediate and up
We'll tune in to our abdominal muscles and look at how they can be used to make our moves more juicy, strengthen our isolations and really give that 'Egyptian feeling' to our moves!
Golden Era | open level
We will learn a simple and sweet choreography to 'Music of Soheir Zaki' - a piece of music originally composed for the dancer Soheir Zaki, but the choreography also includes signature movements from e.g. Samia Gamal. A great way of trying out Golden Era styling for those new to this particular style!
Taqasim | intermediate and up
In this workshop, we'll get to know some of the different melodic instruments of Arabic music (ney, violin, qanoon, oud, accordion) and work with different ways of interpreting their musical textures: shimmy, abdominal work, arms - we'll do it all!
Workshops with Kalila
Khaleegy | Open level
Technique and choreography.
Feminine and flowy khaleegy style, with characteristic hair tosses, graceful hand movements and beautiful steps and head movements. We will get really into the khaleely mood!
Oriental Tango | intermediate and up
Technique and choreography.
Based on Argentine tango and bellydance technique.
Jazzy drum solo | intermediate and up
Technique and choreography.
Fun drum solo with elements from jazz dance technique to spice up the drum solo

Maizena
Workshops with Maizena
Burlesque | intermediate and up
We are going to fusion bellydance with Broadway and burlesque.
There will be ”forbidden” moves, extended legs and a lot of attitude!! Bring out your inner Diva and come for some fun.
Saidi w/cane | intermediate and up
Dancing saidi with a cane have references to the martial art called Tahtib, which originates from Upper Egypt. Today the cane has found its way onto the stage, where both male and female dancers perform the dance of saidi while using the cane.
During this workshop we will work on the basic techniques for holding and twirling the cane while dancing. Everything will be combined into a choreography with the happy saidi feeling.
A limited number of canes can be borrowed during the workshop.

50% of the total amount is due no later than 5 days after registration and any remaining amount should be paid no later den 1 May 2023.
After 1 May 2023 the amount is due in full no later than 5 days after your registration is confirmed.

Until the 1 May we offer Early Bird price per workshop as well as a 3 workshop discount. After the 1 May the prices will be higher.

Payment and terms
You can pay by bank transfer to 4400-4618256626. If you live outside Denmark we offer payment by PayPal. All fees should be paid by the participant.
First instalment is due no later than 5 days after your registration and any remaining amount is due no later than 1 May 2023.
Upon registration after 1 May 2023 the amount is due in full no later than 5 days after your registration is confirmed.
Registration is binding and no refunds are made. Should the workshop be cancelled you will get a full refund. If you are unable to atted a workshop, you are welcome to pass your spot to a friend (remeber to let us know).
