*Maizena* certificered teacher in Oriental bellydance Maizena is the first Danish teacher in Oriental bellydance with a certificate. In 2009 she finished a 2-year long education as a certified teacher in Oriental bellydance (CATT - Certified Academic Teacher's Training). The education is specialized for bellydancers and includes; Oriental dance technique, didactic, pfysiology, dance history, knowledge of rythmes and genres and enterpretation of music. Read more about the education here Tanzakademie Cituentes - CATT As the owner and leader of Danmarks Mavedanserskole Maizena is responsible for creating the coreographies, teaching weekly classes and intensive workshops.
The teacher In class she focuses on a thorough introduction to the applied techniques which will be practiced in coreographies suitable for the different levels. New coreographies are made on a regular basis to ensure that the students increase their knowledge of the Oriental bellydance. The philosophy is that bellydancing is ment to be fun as well as challenging.
		The dancer/coreographer It is important to Maizena to evolve as a dancer and continuously get new inspiration. This is achived via attending workshops with international dancers in Denmark and abroard. Often it will be Arab dancers since the ambition is to develop the Danish bellydance to a level as close to the Arab dancers as culturally possible. To Maizena the dancers principal duty is to interprete the music to the audience - taking them on a jouney though the music's moods and emotions.
